Update on 25-Sep-2024

Cyber Incident A recent cyber incident has been detected concerning the IT systems connected to London’s public transport services. At present, there is no evidence that customer data has been compromised, nor has there been any impact on the licensing system, which holds data for taxi and private hire vehicle (PHV) licensees. Investigations are ongoing, and a full assessment will be conducted. Authorities are collaborating with the National Crime Agency and the National Cyber Security Centre to address the issue. London’s public transport operators thank you for your patience and understanding as they continue to resolve this matter.

Toilet Facilities for Drivers Taxi and private hire drivers across London have access to public toilet facilities at numerous locations throughout the capital. To find the nearest available toilets, drivers are encouraged to check the online map provided.

SERU Assessment Support for PHV Drivers To further support taxi and PHV drivers, audio files of the PHV Driver’s Handbook have been made available online. These audio files are organized by chapter, allowing license applicants to enhance their knowledge and confidence in preparation for their SERU (Safety, Equality and Regulatory Understanding) assessment. Additional resources, including an online assessment guide, offer insights into the format of the exam, the types of questions asked, and visual aids of the process.
