DBS Update Service Requirement for Taxi and PHV Drivers

Starting on February 26, 2024, all taxi and private hire vehicle (PHV) drivers, whether they're applying for new licenses or renewing existing ones, must show proof that they're registered with the DBS Update Service. If they don't provide this proof, they won't get their licenses. For more information, you can check TPH Notice 07/23.

Suicide Awareness Training for Drivers

There's a new course available, developed by the Zero Suicide Alliance in collaboration with licensed drivers and local authorities. This course helps drivers recognize signs of suicidal behavior and teaches them how to have supportive conversations with people they may be concerned about.

Safety Leaflet for Drivers

The Metropolitan Police, in partnership with Transport for London (TFL), has created a leaflet specifically for taxi and PHV drivers. This leaflet provides practical tips on how drivers can keep their money, possessions, and themselves safe while they're working. It also includes information on how to report any criminal activity they might witness while driving.
