The Rubens at the Palace Chauffeur Service

The Rubens at the Palace occupies 39 Buckingham Palace Road, SW1W 0PS — directly opposite the Royal Mews entrance to Buckingham Palace, with some rooms overlooking the Palace's rear garden gates. The hotel's position is arguably the closest of any London hotel to the Palace gates — the Royal Mews, where the Royal carriages and horses are kept, is literally across the road. The Rubens is part of the Red Carnation Hotel Collection and maintains a Royalty and Empire theme throughout, including a collection of Royal memorabilia in the Palace Lounge.

The guest profile is largely international visitors — North American, Australian, and Asian tourists who want to be in the most literally 'Palace adjacent' position possible, and corporate guests who need quick access to Victoria Station (5 minutes) or the Gatwick Express. Your Imperial Ride chauffeur holds on Buckingham Palace Road at the hotel's entrance, SW1W 0PS, and the hotel's position on this wide, accessible road makes it one of the more straightforward hotel pick-up locations in central London.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does my chauffeur wait at The Rubens at the Palace?
Your chauffeur holds at 39 Buckingham Palace Road, SW1W 0PS — directly at the hotel's main entrance on the road, opposite the Royal Mews. Buckingham Palace Road has adequate stopping access at the hotel's frontage, and the hotel entrance team meet the vehicle. You receive a live location SMS when your driver is in position.
Buckingham Palace Road is a main bus route — how does the hotel drop-off work?
Buckingham Palace Road carries heavy bus traffic and strict stopping restrictions along parts of its length. The Rubens at number 39 has a designated hotel kerbside area that the doorman team manages. Our driver pulls to this designated point directly in front of the hotel entrance. Outside peak hours the kerbside is accessible without difficulty. For early morning departures (before 7am), the road is clear and the pull-up is immediate.
Can you drop me at Buckingham Palace's visitor entrance and collect later?
The visitor entrance to the Palace during summer opening (typically late July to September) is on the south side via the garden gate off Buckingham Gate. Our driver drops at this entrance — a 3-minute drive from The Rubens — and collects at an agreed time from the same point. Many guests choose to walk back to the hotel after the Palace visit; it is a pleasant 8-minute walk past the Royal Mews and along Buckingham Gate.
